How to display subcategories on shop

Hi, sorry if this is a repeated discussion.
From what I saw in the template for shop and category pages, I see that subcategories are not rendered.
Am I missing something? How could I implement the display of subcategories on those pages?

By default the categories component has data-v-parent_id="0" attribute set that makes it show only top level categories, you can remove it to show all subcategories
