Go Templating feature to work with custom delimiters

By default Go templating support in vscode expects that the standard delimiters are being used. E.g. {{. However, Go allows the user to set custom delimiters.

This is particularly useful when templating files intended to be used with other templating systems that themselves use the double-curly-braces delimiter. Those are plentiful: Handlebars, Django, VueJS - to name just a few.

I would like to contribute to gopls or the vscode extension (or both) the ability to support Go templates with custom delimiters. Could you point me to a good way on how to contribute this feature?
