Version check Grafanas in my cluster

We're trying to automatically search for any outdated Grafana in our cluster.
Is it possible to find/extract the 'latest' version-number the Grafana Operator that is installed at this time on our cluster, supports?
If we have that, we could compare it with .status.version from all the Grafanas.
e.g. if Grafana Operator installed is 5.16, could we find the latest versionnumber which is '11.3.0' somewhere?

The Grafana operator should support all Grafana versions >= 9.0.0 (with some restrictions on alerting).

We bump the default version regularly, but this is not an indicator that newer versions won't work.

In your situation, I'd just check against the latest published Grafana release

Thank you, but our clusters are airgapped so i cannot 'live check' the url.
And i dont want to update our version-checker every time the operator is updated.
I would be great if i knew where the operator keeps the 'default version' in case no version is given in the Form editor in Openshift.
Is that something you could tell me?

In the airgapped case you can check the value of RELATED_IMAGE_GRAFANA env var on the controller manager. This contains the default version/image
