But I would like to add a new file is automatically selected to display the line number function.
Sometimes it is necessary for me to display line numbers automatically.
Or you can add this functionality to custom settings, so that someone who wants to can set the line number to display by default instead of manually selecting it every time you create a file。
If you can take my advice, I will be very grateful to you.

This feature/requirement has been proposed before, see #2212.
If @gsantner agrees, I could help to add this global setting for line numbers.
