annotation side bar never loads

for some reason, the annotation sidebar doesnt load at all no matter the size of the documnet uploaded. The document opens up, but no sidebar

Is this a PDF or HTML document? Are you using the bookmarklet or embedding the sidebar?
Can you please provide an example and I will look into it.

Conclusion of issue: pdfs need to be preprocessed from pdf to html during uploading or on server to prevent client-side rendering.
