Thanks for checking out openapi-ts. We don't currently collect any telemetry on our usage, this thread will serve as a replacement in the meantime.

1. How did you discover openapi-ts?
2. Why are you using openapi-ts instead of other available client generators?
3. What are some features or things you wish we'd have/do better?

I saw your note on the openapi-typescript projects that was mentioned by FastAPI.
The code generated looks very clean (just ran my client spec through it), but still trying to determine whether it is worth the effort to switch over from the openapi-generator-cli. I think one major weakness is not giving better reasons for moving to this generator vs. the openapi-generator-cli tool.

Thanks for the feedback @mwade-noetic! We will give this a thought. For context, how much effort would it be to migrate between these tools today?

@mwade-noetic a new reason to switch now would be if you're trying to generate TanStack Query functions/are interested in the plugin ecosystem

I've been using openapi-typescript-codegen and now openapi-ts with FastAPI generated and manually written specs for a while, I tried most of the other generators but openapi-ts has always been the one giving the most flexibility (now even more of it with interceptors), the least friction and the easiest integration (full typescript tooling, instead of java/docker/whatever madness).

Thanks @lucsky! Have you tried https://openapi-ts.pages.dev/ too? That seems to be the most popular solution out of the myriad of available tools
