Title + it has alive 22 threads, seems pretty insane to me. I mean RAM usage is not best too 136 MB as HYPRLAND itself.

When I start hyrpaper the vram seems fine at start, not sure what triggers leak, could it be sleep?
The threads and dram usage is same bad tho, just the vram is good at start.

Now this time on start its using 160M vram

so its a leak? looking at the wallpaper it's 1080p so it should use 8.2MB of VRAM, rest of VRAM depends on what screens you have.

Would be convenient if you could narrow down what causes the leak bc hyprpaper on my pc is using 168MB of VRAM which lines up with my hi-res wallpaper and two monitors.

Not sure if its exactly leak but the usage increases, gonna try different things to try to trigger the memory increase when I have time.

mine was using 150mb GPU and 60mb RAM (sometimes even above 100mb) for a 270kb image on two monitors, one QHD and the other FHD (this one is transform, 3)

my version is: 0.8.3-2

had to go back to swww, now using only 331kb

Similarly here. I have a 6.6MB PNG file I use as my wallpaper. swaybg uses ~13MB RAM (RSS) while hyprpaper sits at 187MB (RSS) (obtained via ps -e -o pid,user,pcpu,rss,cmd --sort=-rss | grep -E "(swaybg)|(hyprpaper)").

I have a script that changes my wallpapers on a timer, and manually triggering it ~30 times racks up ~1.2GB of allocated VRAM apparently. Probably the memory allocations for the old wallpapers don't get freed. 2560x1440 + 1280x800 monitors, wallpaper resolutions are varying size (grabbed from an online API).

It’s idiocy compounded by madness. Static wallpaper ~1mb for 1 monitor takes 100mb. I have full gui apps with huge logic and animations that takes less memory.
