Describe the solution you'd like:

It is a Feature and I don't have that much knowledge about Coding

Additional context:

Title is self explanatory. I want this to support normal png, jpg, jpeg, webp etc image format with the distors ascii art. For kitty I think there is a image protocol icat or something like that. And If I want to do it myself where to modify what you don't want to do this then I want to give it a try

Catnap actually had image support a while ago, but I ended up removing it. It caused quite a few bugs and stability issues, and it also depended on a bunch of third-party libraries, which I’m trying to avoid as much as possible.

That said, I’m not against bringing it back. It just needs to be thought through a bit better this time so we don’t run into the same problems again. Your request is a good reminder that it’s something people are interested in.

If you’re interested in experimenting yourself, a good starting point would be to look into how different terminals handle images. (Kitty -> icat, for example)

Either way, I’ll take this as a nudge to look into adding image support again. 🙂
