I would try to include this in the Darwin Core mapping, as a measurement or fact. It is then a useful extra row in addition to sex and lifestage.
Figure out to which record to attach this information too. Ideally the one with the deployment-off-timestamp, but there is no guarantee there is a record for that. Unless we restructure to event-based or DwC-DP, this might not be solvable
Figure out if there is a NERC controlled vocabulary
Decide whether it is useful to also include animal-death-comments
