The resolution of the American flag of the homepage is too high leading to some aliasing. I recommen scaling it down or using a smaller version that has been optimized for low resolutions.

I think we should just drop the American flag and use the English one for consistency (as you also pointed out in #51) and I would also argue cognition - English language = english flag...
