Can't modify server files?

I am running this docker as an application within Truenas Scale (application installed directly from Truenas apps discovery). I mounted the data directory to a dataset and am able to access the server files through SMB. However, changes made to server.properties are overridden, and datapacks added to the world file are not seen at all. What do I need to do to be able to actually modify the server files?

I have read these, however I do not know where variables like"OVERRIDE_SERVER_PROPERTIES" are found. Does this need to be done via shell? If so what is the syntax in order to change the value of a variable like this? I'm not sure exactly what the limitations are when running a container like this in truenas, but much if the documentation seems foreign based on what is available to me through the truenas interface.

Sorry, I did find where environmental variables can be manually added within the truenas application. Now I just gotta figure out why datapacks aren't recognized...

Pardon the triple reply, am I understanding correctly that "VANILLATWEAKS_SHARECODE" is an environmental variable? If so, it doesn't seem to function while it seems like the "OVERRIDE_SERVER_PROPERTIES" variable does. I've attached an screenshot just to be clear about what I am doing.

How do you know it's not working?

Did you check the container logs to see if it is reporting any errors during startup?
