Adjust sidebar width in screenmode: 'half'

I really like the cleanness/focus of half screen mode, but the sidebar is way too big, is there a way to adjust the width for this mode?

I guess it wouldn't really be 'half' screen mode anymore at that point... but not sure if that's a letter/spirit thing with the name.

Failing that, is there any other way to achieve a similar effect where the extraneous, inactive sections in the sidebar as essentially hidden unless active?

I had a branch at some point that added a halfScreenSidePanelWidth config, but I can't find it any more. Shouldn't be hard to redo though; the main problem is that when enlargedSideViewLocation is set to "top", the config name no longer makes sense, and would have to be halfScreenSidePanelHeight. We could make it something like halfScreenSidePanelRatio so that it works for both cases, but then it's no longer consistent with sidePanelWidth.
