Clicking on a tool while editing a workflow leads to state loss

Steps to reproduce:

1. Begin editing a workflow
2. Click on a tool / data item

Expected result:

An error message is displayed about having unsaved work, and navigation is prevented.

Actual result:

The system navigates to the tool that was clicked on, abandoning all changes. Trying to open another workflow results in an error message about unsaved workflow changes being displayed.

Nope the changes are not abandoned. There should be a big red label indicating that you have "unsaved" edits:

If you click on this label you will get back to the unsaved workflow.

Can you confirm?

Confirmed working, but it was non-obvious. Perhaps a tooltip or some other form of hint should be added to the "UNSAVED" button? Until now, I thought it was a simple indicator, not an interactive element.
