Integration of CLI-based model interfaces?

Is there a way to create a backend that uses a CLI so that gptel can interface with it? For example, there is a Sourcegraph Cody CLI:

I would like to be able to redirect it to gptel. Possible right now?

Not without writing a bunch of new process handling code for the CLI command, I think. Essentially what gptel-cody does. Any luck getting it to run?

Haven't really looked into it after trying. I think what gptel-cody tries to do is better, letting gptel just provide the infrastructure to achieve it.

I took a look at gptel-cody's code and it seems fine at first glance. So maybe it just needs a couple of tweaks to be usable.
