Chrome 131: "This extension was turned off because it's no longer supported"

Per the below screenshot, Chrome automatically disables the KeeWeb extension now due to not supporting latest Chrome standards (<-- this is the link in the screenshot):

I imagine this might be related to Manifest v3 or something similar, but didn't look into it in-depth at this time. EDIT: see below comments

My specific Chrome version for reference:
Version 131.0.6778.205 (Official Build) (x86_64) on macOS Sonoma 14.5

Likely related to keeweb/keeweb#2188 in the main repo; not sure if the Manifest v3 changes got a release?

Also the extension's page (using the direct link from the README) displays this:

Seems like no as far as I can tell; 0.3.7 from Aug 2021 is still the latest GitHub release and matches my extension's version

You could probably build it locally as a workaround, but an official release would be great

The same issue, as the Chrome update has changed the requirements for extensions, the plugin released in 2021 can no longer be used normally.

Yeah I don't have credentials to publish the extension to Google. @Aetherinox I know you were working on Google stuff. Do you have access to the credentials?

I'd like to set up an action to publish like I did for Firefox.

This is really urgent. Anything I can do to speed up the deployment? Otherwise we might deploy a new Addon if its impossible to get access.

I can't published the extension but you can download this build I just made and install in Chrome by

1. Downloading the below zip file
2. Extract the zip file
3. Activate "Developer mode" on the Google Chrome extension page
4. Click on "Load unpacked"
5. Select the directory that was extracted from the zip file

If you prefer to build yourself, you can

1. clone this repository and cd into it
2. npm install
3. npm run build-chrome should create a "dist/chrome" directory with the built extension
