It would be neat to be able to select points, drop them, and then save the rest. More like "sculpting" a class than selecting it, if it makes sense.

Could you expand on the use-case? In my experience I've never felt the use-case to make an inverse selection in UMAP space.

A bit niche, perhaps, but here goes:

  • I have few annotated and a bunch of non-annotated examples from the same domain;
  • I do some relatively basic data augmentation, like picking a handful of (representative) annotated examples, and assign that class to the top K most similar items in the unannotated data;
  • I want to manually go through the "silver" data one class at the time, and throw away the stuff I don't like;
  • I fire up bulk and lazo around, but instead of serializing the selections, the examples disappear;
  • I save what's left in the view.

Will think about this one some more. I can also imagine that a feature to select and then remove the selected set would also be nice.
