how to run kustomize edit fix

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to run this command that it is telling me to run. I also cannot find help. Below is what I've tried:

$ kubectl kustomize > /dev/null

  - ./namespace.yaml

$ kustomize edit fix

the message says how to fix manually, but you can try kustomize edit fix to auto fix

for auto fix, you need to install kustomize cli, then run kustomize edit fix
