Consider require support

Though I don't want to do it, there is a lot of code out there stuck with legacy require. I think we could handle this at runtime with rollup and a few of its plugins, like I've been doing with the package-es-module things from a few years ago...the problem would be determining which packages need that and which don't. Also, I think snowpack is thinking about doing this as well
