Exact URL of where the bug happened

https://lichess.org/inbox/

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. open a chat with someone
  2. press Win . (dot) to get the emoji panel (in Windows, obviously)
  3. filter for "man facepalming"
  4. click on that emoji (🤦‍♂️)
  5. look at the emoji, which should appear correctly
  6. refresh the page

What did you expect to happen?

The emoji should have been rendered the same way as put in

What happened instead?

The emoji was broken into two: the facepalm emoji and the Male Sign unicode character: 🤦♂

Operating system

Windows

Browser and version (or alternate access method)

Brave

Additional information

The bug is the more perplexing since you see the emoji correctly and the person receiving it does not. You need to refresh the page to see how it was rendered from the information coming from the server.

this means that the list of emojis that the server knows is out of date, it's not just lichess that has this problem with emojis
