The original Turing screen has an incredibly cool color temperature (i.e. a heavy blue tint). My colorimeter reported a color temperature of 43,000 K which is crazy.
I found a simple but very effective fix using what I had on hand, which was some color correcting films.
You can disassemble the LCD by carefully peeling off the FPC cable and removing the plastic diffusing tray which is itself lightly adhered to the LCD. Then pad the tray with the color correcting film cut to the right dimension, reassemble everything and voilà! As you can see, my films were too small so I had to use 2, the seam between the two films is faintly visible but it's no big deal. Ideally you'd want a large enough film.
A 1/4 CTO film as I used was the best, it brought the color temperature very close to an ideal 6500 K. It's still not going to be a screen suitable for photo retouching, but it's much better than before.
