I noticed that some themes have flexible values, e.g. at first they show bits because of low internet load, and then as the speed increases the speed starts to be measured in megabytes. Is there any way to make the theme always display speed in megabits?

This feature is not available for the moment, the unit for internet speed is set automatically to the best available. I have created a feature request #720 to implement the changes, but since I have a lot of work I may not be able to work on it soon, sorry about that :( you can subscribe to the feature request #720 to be informed of future changes !
