Lagging cursor movement in Wayland

I am sorry if the problem is not vertico-related. I recently moved from X11 to Wayland and noticed that the cursor movement is always lagging behind. Here is the profiling result. Appreciate any suggestion on how I should proceed.

@VictorYYW Can you please try to reproduce this with emacs -Q with only vertico-mode enabled? Multiple unrelated packages appear in your profile (evil, lsp, flycheck).

Interestingly, the lagging is not there any more when I follow your suggestion even with evil/flycheck. Here is the profiling result for comparison.

Okay, thanks. Maybe some other package in your configuration is eating runtime. I suggest to add packages gradually until you identify the culprit. lsp-mode?

Thank you for the prompt reply! What you are saying makes sense. I will try to isolate the issue when I have some time (though turning off lsp-mode does not alleviate the problem)
