Is there no way to select which gpu card to use in linux?

I don't like using a dedicated gpu for video playback, as it wastes wattage and heat (Mine is bad with heat) when the integrated gpu does it just fine and more efficiently. DRI_PRIME=0 didn't work, and trying to force it with corectrl profiles (By disabling the dgpu for the mpv binary) didn't do anything.

It's not that I can't use it (It gets a bit bad with too high res videos, but that's it) but it seems like obvious surface for me to optimize my setup.

As of today I've added gpu-api=opengl to my mpv.conf to stop waking up the discrete Nvidia GPU. Oh the joys of having a Nvidia Optimus laptop lol. Something might have changed in an -Syu

vulkan-mesa-implicit-layers (1:26.0.6-1 -> 1:26.1.1-2)
vulkan-intel (1:26.0.6-1 -> 1:26.1.1-2)
