I recently started using NetBox and I really like most parts of the interface. There is, however, one thing that keeps bothering me:
Whenever I use a dropdown menu and start typing to filter the available choices, the entered text does not clear after I select a value.
Example:
When creating a cable, I start typing (e.g. “G83”) to narrow down the device list. After choosing the correct device (“G83-PBO”), it gets selected, but my entered text remains in the field. Because of that, the dropdown shows “No results found” which blocks the next field below that I want to edit.
It’s only one additional click to clear the input, but some of my co-workers mentioned it becomes annoying when adding lots of new cables.
Screenshot:
Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Is there a possible workaround? I think the best solution for me would be to just deselect the field completely once something from the dropdown menu is chosen.
Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany
