Since node:sqlite operations are blocking and single-threaded, I don't know how feasible adding query interruptability would be.

I guess in theory, we could register a sqlite3_progress_handler which polls the state of a user-provided AbortSignal and calls sqlite3_interrupt if required, but this would presumably come with some decent overhead.

Pseudo code usage:

async function search(query) {
   db.interrupt(); /* stop previous request */
   return db.exec(/* SELECT ... long SQLite query ... */);
}

async function main() {
  search('a');
  search('b');
  search('c');
}

main();

As I understand your pseudo-code : exec is synchronous and db.interrupt() will never have anything to interrupt.
