Controll fan swing positions with additional sensors. Samsung windfree.

Just wanted to share a rather easy addition to functionality. Since it is not directly connected to the esphome controll, i am not sure if this is the correct place for this.

I added 2 Aqara door and window sensors inside the AC Unit and designed / 3d printed magnet holders to trigger the door sensors once the air deflectors reach a certain position.
After that it is a simple scribt that waits for the trigger signal and then waits different amounts of time bevor turing swing mode off.
Now i can aim the air flow to one position with a button. Since i have my AC in the hallway i can direct the airflow towards a particular room or the stairs.

Wow, this is clever, thanks for sharing this, that is cool! How did you manage to tweak the position to know when to stop? Does aqara sensors allow for some calibration? Or trial and error?

Hey,
So the sensor seems to trigger very accurately at the same position every time. Since the swing is rather slow and home assistant only allows for 1 second interval in automations, the only thing i tweaked manually was the amount of seconds to wait bevor the stop signal ist send. This works plenty accurately for air flow. The air flow direction is rather vague by itself.
