Latest tag for docker images

Why don't we publish a latest tag along with the latest version for the images we publish in ghcr.io ? This might help the users who wants to use the latest version everytime instead of either updating the version or using some github apis for resolving the latest version.. any reason for this? Also why dont we publish these images ( https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-java-instrumentation/pkgs/container/opentelemetry-java-instrumentation%2Fsmoke-test-fake-backend ) into docker?

there isn't a reason, we just haven't needed it ourself

github container registry works just fine for our purposes
