Codex runs perfectly in Termux environment on Android

I've been runing Codex in the Termux terminal environment on my Android device since the first anouncement a few weeks ago.
I'm using it a lot and find it to be a powerful and enjoyable tool.

I've build myself a terminal-based OpenAI Assitant tool that I use as a 'general perpose' assistant, but Codex has become my go-to coding assistant.

Hello! I've never used Codex vie the web. I only use Codex CLI in the terminal. Sorry I can't answer your question.

Oh, I see. Well, I've never had to log in with Codex CLI, but to be honest, I'm not using it anymore because as of version 0.5,x onward, it stopped working for me, and I didn't like many of the UI changes that were being pushed out. I could not easily find a way to give feed-back. I tried the OpenAI forum, but got no response there.

Here's my experience running it in the Termux environment on Android:
From initial release up to v0.1.25x it worked great. No need to log in as it used my API key which was exported as an environmental variable.
After v0.5.0, it stopped working and gave connection errors. Switching back to v0.1.25x works fine. I was never able to get any solution for that issue, and lost interest in Codex.

Maybe these newer versions need some sort of log in?? But honestly, I got tired of Codex and don't use it anymore. And I don't like gpt-5, I only use gpt-4.1.
When I want a little AI assistance when coding, I just use my own GPT client, which I like better:

What environment are you trying to run Codex CLI in? Do you have an API key?

How did you install it? Did you install with npm or did you download a release? When I was still using it, I had always installed on the command line with npm.
