Description

Webpack needs to start paying for the doc preview deploys and our production deploy. We need a free hosting service, so either we need to move our user to the openjsf vercel account or find another way to host the documentation page.

Adding in additional detail I received over slack

We need to migrate the webpack project on Vercel under the OpenJS org on Vercel. Right now webpack is using a free tier, and risk at being shutdown as it requires payment. I already chatted with xxx and he said we should simply move the project under the OpenJS org

That can be easily achieved if Even adds you as an admin on the webpack project on Vercel and then you can migrate it to the OpenJS one as you are an admin there

I can also fill the issues but we are under pressure as if we don’t do the switch soon the website webpack.js.org will go down

@evenstensberg if agreeable to you, we can do the org transfer now and once the pressure is off, evaluate if CF might be a better solution.

If the answer is yes, the next step would be to make my user as an admin on webpack. [email protected]

Once you do that we can co-ordinate on when to do the swtich. I'd like you or a team member to be around so that we can verify things are working as expeccted.

Sure. So I'll add you as an admin now, and I will need to find someone from the docs team to verify the switch. As you know we absolutely need the switch to be smooth or else this will impact a lot of people.

Transfer is in progress. Note I did just file a ticket with vercel as it seems to be taking way longer than they said it would.
