Display a warning banner if a codelist has a "moved" ICD10 code but not its partner

There are some concepts that are represented with different codes in the 2016 vs 2019 editions. I.e. they have moved. For example "Post COVID condition" is U074 in 2016, but U08 and U089 in 2019. If a codelist has one but not all of these codes it is likely a mistake as you would miss events. We should display a banner warning users of this.

Considerations:

• different message if building a codelist / viewing my own codelist / viewing someone else's codelist
• need to get the balance right between a detailed explanation (it's not straightforward) and something that isn't very intrusive

Your codelist may be missing one or more equivalent ICD-10 codes.

What does this mean?

OpenCodelists supports both the 2016 and 2019 WHO editions of ICD-10 because different datasets use different editions:

• HES/APCS uses an NHS-modified version of the 2016 edition.
• ONS deaths uses the 2019 edition.

Some concepts have different codes in each edition. Including only one code may cause records to be missed in datasets that use the other edition.

What should I do?

We recommend including both ICD-10 codes where a concept has different codes in the 2016 and 2019 editions. Codes that moved between editions aren't reused for different conditions, so including both is the safest way to ensure your codelist works across datasets.
If you intentionally exclude a code, please document your reason in the codelist metadata.
