[Deprecation] AWS SDK for Java 1.x will reach end of support on December 31, 2025

The AWS SDK for Java 1.x entered maintenance mode starting July 31, 2024 and will reach end of support on December 31, 2025. For more information, see https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/developer/the-aws-sdk-for-java-1-x-is-in-maintenance-mode-effective-july-31-2024/
You can print where on the file system the AWS SDK for Java 1.x core runtime is located by setting the AWS_JAVA_V1_PRINT_LOCATION environment variable or aws.java.v1.printLocation system property to 'true'.
This message can be disabled by setting the AWS_JAVA_V1_DISABLE_DEPRECATION_ANNOUNCEMENT environment variable or aws.java.v1.disableDeprecationAnnouncement system property to 'true'.

@cwperks @peterzhuamazon Where is the AWS SDK v1 dependency coming from in this repository? I'm only aware of the usages of v2 as defined in the version catalog.

I think the core is fine. I can't reproduce the message from the issue description.

Previously with sonatype push it doesnt need awssdk, however, when I switch to s3 in PR #19619 I can clearly see logs when publishing snapshots.

If I understand this correctly, the support to publish artifacts to S3 is built into Gradle itself, which currently uses the 1.x AWS SDK. There was a PR last year to upgrade, but it has not been completed. See gradle/gradle#27774
