I'm running a Zotac Zxox 323 nano using the offered plugin Realtek vendor driver in a stable condition. My newer Zotax Zbox 329 nano uses a more recent chipset and keeps loosing the WAN connection randomly using the vendor driver.

Describe the solution you'd like
The vendor driver seems pretty old showing version number 1.0 being imported 4y ago and no update has happened. Several updates have been released by Realtek and more recent FreeBSD packages are available based on this repo.

The most recent vendor driver is ver 1.100.00 released on 2024/06/03.

This could solve some stability issues users are seeing with more revent Realtek based NICs.

Are you maybe mixing up plugin and package versions?

os-realtek-re is reported at system/firmware/plugins as 1.0 and at firmware/packages also as 1.0 - I assumed that was the driver release version by the vendor. I guess you refer to realtek-re-kmod 1100.00.1402000_1 - I guess this is indicating it's the latest release version.
