so 550Mhz is slower than 480Mhz?
BTW, Teensy 4.1 600Mhz is 2462.65

I convert your issue as a discussion.
I didn't check the clock config but it is probably the default clock config provided by the variant which is not at the maximum possible frequency for the STM32H723VGT6.
For my interest how did you this test?

Looking at the system clock config it is configured at 120MHz. That's why you got this result.

In a general way we try to use the maximum frequency allowing to use all peripherals with their constraints (USB clock at 48MHz,...)
As I do not have this board and the user have tested it it was merged with this config.

Just wondering why set to 120Mhz by default? Why not set to 550Mhz by default, like other STM32s?

It was the choice of the contributor to set this freq and tested with it by him.
