Reformat code doesnt work anymore

Since some time "Reformat Code" is formatting the code with IDE settings instead of with oxfmt. Not sure if this came with WebStorm update or Oxc update:

• WebStorm 2026.1.4
• Oxc 0.0.36

I see everything is running but formatting is not working anymore, no matter what I do:

Here you see the editor style is not working anymore and it removes singleQuotes:

Cant be just me? Oxfmt is not working AT ALL anymore. Formatting and autocomplete config is totally broken. Possibly this happens in monorepos with .oxfmtrc.json at root ./?

Formatting work if I select manual config and then select "Path to Oxfmt Config" leaving language server empty. But editor styles dont work still, super annoying.

I tested https://github.com/oxc-project/oxc-intellij-plugin/tree/main/sandbox/oxfmt/nested-configs and https://github.com/oxc-project/oxc-intellij-plugin/tree/main/sandbox/vite-plus. Both seem to work for me. So, you may be right about the monorepo issue.

autocomplete config is totally broken

Can you clarify what you mean by this? Are you saying that when editing the .oxfmtrc.json file you don't have suggestions for properties or validations of the property values? If so, can you see what schema is applied for the .oxfmtrc.json file when you open it? (Typically shown in the bottom right of the IDE. Should be something like JSON: Oxfmt.)

Which folder are you opening in the IDE? The root or the individual package?

Could you share a minimal reproduction for this? If not, can you answer the below questions?

1. Is oxfmt (or vite-plus) installed in the root ./, or is it installed in each individual package ./some-package? Or a mix of both?
2. What package manager are you using? npm, pnpm, etc.
3. What configuration (if any) are you using that may impact the location of the node_modules folder? (Such as hoisting with Yarn)

Sorry english is not my first language. With autocomplete I meant editor styles. For example if you I press enter the next line has 4 spaces instead of 2.

• oxfmt is installed in the root, latest 0.57.0
• Package manager is bun

The autocomplete concern should be addressed in the new release with the Oxfmt code style setting #345.

Haven't looked into the other probelm yet.

Tried to reproduce the format problem here https://github.com/nrayburn-tech/oxc-intellij-plugin-529. It seems to work for me when using the "Reformat Code" action, can you check if it does not work for you?

If it does not work for you, I think I need more information from you.

1. What OS are you using?
2. What version of Bun are you using?
3. What do you have configured in the project as your Node runtime? (In WebStorm go to Settings > Languages & Frameworks > JavaScript Runtime and share all of the configuration there.)

If it does work for you, then there's probably something else about your project that is different that we need to identify.
