when running pnpm dev: no electron app entry found

I wanted to make my own plugin so I cloned the repo and followed the instruction in the README file, but when I run pnpm dev, i get an error saying that there's no electron app entry found. the electron main process and preload files build successfully but in the dev server stage i get the error. i can't make any progress because of this error and i wanted to see if this had an easy fix or what
