A model with around hundreds subunits, like he one shown, loads from 8 minutes on a Mac with M4 to 30 minutes on an older Mac with an Intel processor.

Feature request: an option to disable NCS operators calculation.

Alternatively, a bit more sophisticated algorithm could depend linearly on the number of chains.

I think that there is some crossed wires. There are no NCS matrices unless one adds them.
Is it (just) the molecular assembly problem?
Do you see the same problem with the molecular assembly of 1ej6, for example?
