Description
When using pnpm to create a new Pixi.js project, the command pnpm create pixi.js@latest fails with the error ERR_PNPM_DLX_MULTIPLE_BINS because the package has multiple binaries (cpa and create-pixi). However, the README doesn't provide guidance on how to handle this situation.
Current Behavior
- README doesn't mention the multiple binaries issue
- No instructions for using the correct pnpm dlx syntax
- Users encounter an error when following the current documentation
% pnpm create pixi.js@latest
.../195db4dac74-34ca | +12 +
.../195db4dac74-34ca | Progress: resolved 12, reused 12, downloaded 0, added 12, done
ERR_PNPM_DLX_MULTIPLE_BINS Could not determine executable to run. create-pixi.js has multiple binaries: cpa, create-pixi
Try one of the following:
pnpm --package=create-pixi.js dlx cpa
pnpm --package=create-pixi.js dlx create-pixiProposed Solution
Update the README to include information about the multiple binaries and provide the correct command examples:
pnpm --package=create-pixi.js dlx cpa
or
pnpm --package=create-pixi.js dlx create-pixi
Benefits
- Improved user experience for pnpm users
- Clear guidance on command options
- Prevents confusion when encountering the multiple binaries error
I'd be happy to contribute a PR with these changes if this issue is accepted.
