## Remarks  
 The base <xref:System.Runtime.Caching.ObjectCache> class exposes a static <xref:System.Runtime.Caching.ObjectCache.Host%2A> property. When a .NET Framework hosting environment starts individual application domains, it can set a reference to the <xref:System.Runtime.Caching.ObjectCache.Host%2A> property. This enables the hosting environment to provide better integration with the cache.  
  
 In [!INCLUDE[net_v40_short](~/includes/net-v40-short-md.md)], the <xref:System.Runtime.Caching.Hosting> namespace provides interfaces that a hosting environment can use to set a <xref:System.IServiceProvider> reference on the <xref:System.Runtime.Caching.ObjectCache.Host%2A> property.
