I get this error when processing a standard dump made by phpMyAdmin: Dump parsing error at line 44: syntax error - Unexpected [--]
It fails on this line: -- --------------------------------------------------------, which should be a valid comment.
If I export without comments, it processes the dump just fine.
Here's the example sql export:
