8.3 was released in July 20th, seems like it would be nice to heave a 8.4 release soon, as we have some nice new improvements slated for the next release.

Looking at the milestone, the only standing issue is dropping Python 3.8 in #12875.

Is there anything else someone would like to get in before we release 8.4?

Ahh thanks @RonnyPfannschmidt.

Could you add them to the 8.4 milestone please?

Change the absolute paths in the output to relative paths:

  • raise FixtureLookupError
  • --junit-xml=junit.xml and pytest.mark.skip

The discussion itself lacks follow-up updates, so it’s in a WIP state.
Could you briefly evaluate whether it should be included in 8.4?

@dongfangtianyu it could be included in 8.4 if it lands until then, sure. I think you can go ahead and work on it, if that's what you are asking. 👍

@nicoddemus Got it! It should be finished in about a week if everything goes smoothly. :)
