@Aishbeck this should have been a discussion.

There is not firmly set date. Most likely no more than six months but it entirely depends on the upgrade trajectory and how many 6.8.x-specific issues we actually see.

It can be longer if someone in the community steps up to maintain the 6.x series. So far, no one has.

@Aishbeck you will be asked to provide an executable way to reproduce. For the time being, key contributors will likely choose to investigate. In six months or a year from now, you will be asked to submit a PR with tests (where possible).

Unless someone steps up to maintain the 6.x series, that's the best we can offer. You get the software for free under a very permissive license, so either upgrade or help maintain the older series for as long as they are popular enough.
