When you entered the secret in your config file, did you use the "{{ secrets.YOUR_SECRET }}" notation? This is not clear from your code sample above.

In times like this where users (understandably) try multiple ways to get something to work, it can be very confusing for others to understand/follow.

What was your primary attempt here? e.g.

• Define org-level secret
• Use Mend UI for org-level host rule?

BTW it is this setting which probably stops your UI-configured host rule from working:

By setting this you are restricting it to only the custom datasource

encryptedWarning will appear only if you have the keyword encrypted in your config
setting the same hostRule in multiple locations will override each other.
you can remove it completely from renovate.json
and set it in the org level settings or in the repo level settings. and it will work fine aswell.

this message says Detected config in env RENOVATE_CONFIG which is our environment config in the app.
encryptedWarning parameter is actually a string. what you see here is the message we print in case
an encrypted secret was detected.

you should see it in WARN instead of DEBUG in case it happens. see

so it's not a logged line, it's just the config that would be logged if we had used encrypted secrets.
