plugInDimmer - ZWave |
{% include base.html %}
This describes the Z-Wave device plugInDimmer, manufactured by BeNext with the thing type UID of benext_plugindimmer_00_000
.
The device is in the category of Power Outlet, defining Small devices to be plugged into a power socket in a wall which stick there.
The plugInDimmer supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.
No device information is provided in the database. Consider updating the database to improve the documentation.
The following table summarises the channels available for the plugInDimmer -:
Channel | Channel Id | Category | Item Type |
---|---|---|---|
Dimmer | switch_dimmer | DimmableLight | Dimmer |
Electric meter (kWh) | meter_kwh | Energy | Number |
Electric meter (watts) | meter_watts | Energy | Number |
The brightness channel allows to control the brightness of a light. It is also possible to switch the light on and off.
The switch_dimmer
channel supports the Dimmer
item and is in the DimmableLight
category.
Indicates the energy consumption (kWh).
The meter_kwh
channel supports the Number
item and is in the Energy
category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.
Indicates the instantaneous power consumption.
The meter_watts
channel supports the Number
item and is in the Energy
category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.
The following table provides a summary of the 10 configuration parameters available in the plugInDimmer. Detailed information on each parameter can be found in the sections below.
Param | Name | Description |

1 | Reset to factory settings | Set all configuration values to default values (factory settings). |
4 | Enable dimming | This parameter is used to enable the dimming option of the product. When disabled the dimming and fading routine are disabled. |
6 | Maximum powerload | The maximum powerload in watts when light is turned on, when measured higher then this value the Plugin Dimmer is automatically stops with dimming or is turned off. |
7 | Dimming speed | The speed of dimming when activated (manual and RF). Dim speed is 1% per value (* 10 ms) |
8 | Fading up speed | The speed of fading up when activated (manual and RF). Fade speed is 1% per value (* 10 ms) |
11 | Auto meter report: percentage | A percentage that an energy value must be different compared to a previous sent value before an unsolicited meter report is sent. Minimum value = 1% Maximum value = 100% |
12 | Auto meter report: watt | A watt value that an energy value must be different compared to a previous sent value before an unsolicited meter report is sent. Minimum value = 5 watt Maximum value = 255 watt |

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.
The plugInDimmer supports 2 association groups.
Receives BASIC SET commands
Association group 1 supports 8 nodes.
Receives METER and MULTILEVEL_SWITCH commands
Association group 2 supports 1 node.
