DCH-Z120 - ZWave |

This describes the Z-Wave device DCH-Z120, manufactured by D-Link with the thing type UID of dlink_dchz120_00_000
.
The device is in the category of Sensor, defining Device used to measure something.
The DCH-Z120 supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is unable to participate in the routing of data from other devices.
The DCH-Z120 does not permanently listen for messages sent from the controller - it will periodically wake up automatically to check if the controller has messages to send, but will sleep most of the time to conserve battery life. Refer to the Wakeup Information section below for further information.
The sensor DCH-Z120 has a PIR sensor integrated with temperature and illumination, which are 3 sensors function in one, based on Z-WaveTM technology.
- Have Z-WaveTM Controller entered inclusion mode.
- Pressing tamper key three times within 1.5 seconds to enter the inclusion mode.
- After add successful, the device will wake to receive the setting command from Z-WaveTM Controller about 20 seconds.
- Have Z-WaveTM Controller entered exclusion mode.
- Pressing tamper key three times within 1.5 seconds to enter the exclusion mode.
The DCH-Z120 does not permanently listen for messages sent from the controller - it will periodically wake up automatically to check if the controller has messages to send, but will sleep most of the time to conserve battery life. The wakeup period can be configured in the user interface - it is advisable not to make this too short as it will impact battery life - a reasonable compromise is 1 hour.
The wakeup period does not impact the devices ability to report events or sensor data. The device can be manually woken with a button press on the device as described below - note that triggering a device to send an event is not the same as a wakeup notification, and this will not allow the controller to communicate with the device.
Remove the front cover and press the tamper key once. The device will wake-up 10 seconds.

Setting the BASIC command value to turn on the light.
- 0: Turn off the light.
- 1 - 100: For dimmers 1 to 100 means the light level.
- 255: Turns on the light. (Default) The following option values may be configured, in addition to values in the range 1 to 100 -:

Set the sensitivity for the PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor).
- 0 = Disable the PIR motion detection.
- 1 - 99 = 1 means the lowest sensitivity, 99 means the highest sensitivity
High sensitivity means can detected long distance, but if there is more noise signal in the environment, it will re-trigger too frequency. The following option values may be configured, in addition to values in the range 1 to 99 -:

Set the illumination threshold to turn on the light. When the event triggers and the environment illumination is lower than the threshold, the device will turn on the light.
- 0 means turn off illumination detected function. And never turn on the light.
- 1 means darkest. 99 means brightest.
- 100 means turn off illumination detected function. And always turn on the light.
Notice: In none test mode, only the value in 1 to 99 will enable the illumination detected function and update the illumination value. The following option values may be configured, in addition to values in the range 1 to 99 -:

Bit3: When Bit2 is 0 (Enable), are the device and the lighting in the same room? 0: In the same room(Default), 1: In the different room. Notice: If this bit is 1, it is recommended also set the Bit1 to 1, cause the PIR triggered, doesn't mean the people in that room.
Bit4: Disable delay 5 seconds to turn off the light, when door/window closed. (1:Disable, 0:Enable)
Bit5: Disable auto turn off the light, after door/window opened to turn on the light. (1:Disable, 0:Enable) Notice: If bit2 is zero, this setting isuseless. Notice: If the configuration No.9 is zero, this setting is useless.
Bit6: Reserve.
Bit7: Reserve. Values in the range 0 to 63 may be set.

Set re-detect time after PIR motion triggered
8 seconds per tick, default tick is 3 (24 seconds).
Setting the suitable value to prevent received the trigger signal too frequently. Also can save the battery energy.
Notice: If this value bigger than the configuration setting NO. 9. There is a period after the light turned off and the PIR not start detecting.

After turn on the lighting, setting the delay time to turn off the lighting when the PIR motion is not detected.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_22_1
and is of type INTEGER
.
The wakeup interval sets the period at which the device will listen for messages from the controller. This is required for battery devices that sleep most of the time in order to conserve battery life. The device will wake up at this interval and send a message to the controller to tell it that it can accept messages - after a few seconds, it will go back to sleep if there is no further communications.
This setting is defined in seconds. It is advisable not to set this interval too short or it could impact battery life. A period of 1 hour (3600 seconds) is suitable in most instances.
Note that this setting does not affect the devices ability to send sensor data, or notification events.

When sleeping devices wake up, they send a notification to a listening device. Normally, this device is the network controller, and normally the controller will set this automatically to its own address. In the event that the network contains multiple controllers, it may be necessary to configure this to a node that is not the main controller. This is an advanced setting and should not be changed without a full understanding of the impact.

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.
