Stopped working ? Cannot connect to server

Last few days when I try to update forecast, it writes unable to connect to the server. I haven't done any changes whatsoever. Is it working for you? Any idea where's the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Forecast updating has stopped again. There are only dashes as of Monday Feb 19th 2024 and onwards. Anybody got the same problem?

I had the issue a few weeks ago - through troubleshooting I determined that my API key was not valid. I did send an email to weatherbit to find out what was going on. I never heard back. I checked a few days later and it was working again. So not sure what was going on. I'd suggest just waiting a few days and see if it clears up on its own.

OK, it says unable to connect to the server. I'll let it run until tomorrow and then check up on some things.

Hmm, seems the problem resolved itself somehow. Restarting the computer, Wamp and the 4-day forecast program didn't help but then I logged into my weatherbit account and somehow miraculously everything started working again. Don't ask me how.

In weatherbit, under status updates it said that they had a minor degradation of service on Jan 30th, that was probably what caused your issue, @cmumathwhiz.

it still doesn't work for me. I reinstalled xampp for latest version, I even got a new account with a new api key at weatherbit, but it still says cannot connect to server

Strange. The only additional things I did to what I described above was opening the getweather.php file to check my api-key and pull and replace the usb contact to the transmitter. I did both while 4-day forecast was running (after restarting everything). But that doesn't really seem to me like a solution. Still - it's been working for me since.

I tried to install everything on another machine. it's not working there either. The only difference is that on my main laptop it says can't connect to server but it gets time and date and on the other computer there's no announcement at all and it doesn't show time and date. May be because the other machine has windows 11 installed. My main laptop is windows 10. It really drives me crazy. I will try to uninstall everything on my main laptop (xampp and 4day forecast app) and reinstall and I'll try wamp instead of xampp. I'll post the result when I'm done

So I installed wamp, renistalled 4 day wether app.
I put all files i downloaded here to c:\wamp\www
I edited httpd.conf and added Allow from 127.0.0.1.
I added it to httpd.conf that's in "win_and_wamp" directory too.
In C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) i added line 127.0.0.1 server1.netinfostation.com.
I got my new api key fwom weatherbit.io and put it in getweather.php script - in the api_key variable:

And it's not working. Still getting Cannot connect to server error.

I tried to turn off firewall. It's not worning either.

I have no idea what to do next. Any ideas anyone, please?

Have you tried to use both the http and the https addresses in the script?

I made no changes in script, other than those written in installation guide. After your question I tried to change all http addresses,that I've found in getweather.php and index.php files to https but it had no effect.

Or do you mean something else by your question?

I'm sorry, I donů't understand what exactly I'm supposed to do with those addresses.

In getweather.php on line 82 you have this line beginning with "$url = " and then the server address. You could try using the http or the https address here.

I tried both addresses. Still can't connect to server :-(

I don't understand why. It used to work till November 2023, then one day it just stopped. I'm not aware of doing any changes to my setup when in stopped working.

I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas. I had the same problem but my program started working again without me doing anything special. Hope there are others who can solve this problem for you.
