I saw a youtube video a man trying to build an AESA fully by himself with Wi-Fi APs, like 10 years ago, and now we can do phase synchronization stuff entirely via Neural net. What a Cool project.

The concept of WiFi CSI-based sensing dates back to the early 2010s. The Intel 5300 CSI Tool (2011) enabled researchers to extract Channel State Information from commodity WiFi hardware, laying the foundation for modern WiFi sensing research. In 2013, researchers from Jiaotong University and Temple University introduced one of the earliest WiFi CSI-based people counting systems. Subsequent works by Korean researchers (2014) and Chinese researchers (2017) significantly improved the accuracy and robustness of crowd counting, helping establish WiFi CSI as a practical approach for device-free human sensing.
