Release procedure 3.3.6-RC3

• Publish artifacts to Maven via CI

  • Ensure scala-steward is blocking automatic upgrades for 3.3.6
  • On release-3.3.6 branch:
    • In project/Build.scala: Set baseVersion = "3.3.6-RC3"
    • In tasty/src/dotty/tools/tasty/TastyFormat.scala ensure MinorVersion is set to 7
    • In tasty/src/dotty/tools/tasty/TastyFormat.scala ensure ExperimentalVersion is set to experimental (1 or higher)
    • Create changelog file in changelogs/3.3.6-RC3.md
    • Tag the branch as 3.3.6-RC3
    • Wait for CI to publish artifacts
    • Audit and release artifacts on https://oss.sonatype.org/

• On main branch:

  • In project/Build.scala: Set referenceVersion to 3.3.6-RC3 chore: Bump reference version to RC3 scala3-lts#391
  • Check and update project/MiMaFilters.scala

• Wait for releases/confirmation from tooling:

  • Scala CLI - test chore: Update LTS to 3.3.6-RC3 VirtusLab/scala-cli#3659
  • Scala Native - publish compiler plugin
  • Scastie - update available versions
  • Scala DAP - publish compiler plugin
  • Scalameta Parser - test test: Try 3.3.6-RC3 scalameta/scalameta#4238

• Announce the release

  • Publish release on GitHub Releases (as pre-release)
  • Update tracking thread on https://contributors.scala-lang.org
