git sparse-checkout with --depth 1

I use a mono-repo and currently only the repository I use for Semaphore UI is outside the mono-repo. It would be nice if I could include the contents of this repository inside a folder in my mono-repo and be able to use git sparse-checkout and make it shallow --depth 1 to do a shallow clone of just that folder.

I don't know if this is already possible but if it's not this would be a very nice feature.
