I've been bounced atproto->activitypub

I want to move my mastodon account to different handle.
I also want my bsky handle to point to a custom domain.

Which should I do first? Does it matter? How do I need to "inform" the bounce about the change?

Hi Todd! If you're on a recent version of Mastodon, and your AP actor id has a number or hash in it instead of your username (check on https://browser.pub/ ), changing your Mastodon username should Just Work with the bridge.

Agreed. That may be less about which version you're currently on and more about which version it was on when you first created your account.

I don't know a lot about these Mastodon details, but I expect it either won't let you change your username, or if it does, that may be somewhat disruptive to your followers, and the bridge would see you as a different/new fediverse account.
