jar file not generated

I'm trying to build a jar file and run it from the command line
./mvnw package
target folder is created..however, jar file is missing.How to get the required jar to launch the application.

below is the snapshot of the target folder,

java -jar target/*.jar

[dsyer]

There's a 68MB jar file there. Is that not working? I think your shell is not expanding the glob - just use the full file name or get a better shell.
